For auditors, keeping their knowledge up to date is essential rather than optional. With new accounting standards and policies introduced each year, the Audit Summer Course is one of our core events every year to ensure that our entire team is aligned, informed, and equipped to deliver high-quality audit work.
At Reanda Netherlands, the Audit Summer Course is more than just a week of learning, it is a celebration of our commitment to continuous learning, teamwork and collective intelligence. During the summer, we hold a dedicated week of training sessions tailored to the firm’s evolving priorities and development needs. It is a chance to work with people and teams our auditors usually don’t work with every day. As we work with different teams, knowledge doesn’t cross teams that easily. The Summer Course offers the opportunity to share best practices with the whole firm, to have all teams on the same level and sharpen their skills. Besides that, it’s a great moment to further get to know each other and to enhance their professional relationship across the firm.
Risk related training and IT audit
One of the key topics this year was risk assessment; the backbone of the audit. The training focused on aligning the whole firm in how we carry out the procedures, which matters to consider, how to document it, and more.
New this year was the training on IT Audit, led by our new IT partner Tarik. Given the increasing reliance of business on complex IT environments, Tarik emphasised the critical role of IT audits in enhancing the overall quality of financial audits. Better data accuracy and system integrity leads to more reliable financial reporting. It was a good way to learn about how IT and financial audit intertwine and it reflected our commitment to audit quality and staying ahead in an evolving digital landscape.
On Friday we concluded this year’s Summer Course with a festive barbecue together at Strand Zuid. It was the perfect way to wrap up our week of learning: surrounded by colleagues, great food, and music from a live DJ on a beautiful summer terrace. This combination of continuous learning and team bonding is what makes the Summer Course so valuable.
